People vary widely in their ability to recognise faces. Some experience serious difficulty recognising even very familiar people, while others show exceptional ability at recognising people from fleeting encounters.
The UNSW Face Test was developed to measure these individual differences in face recognition ability.

The Face Registry helps us build research on individual differences in face perception. People who complete the face test may be invited to take part in future research, depending on their interest and eligibility.
Why measure face perception ability?
Measuring face perception abilities helps us understand how people differ in a fundamental skillset that underpins social and emotional intellgence. This work informs basic science on person perception and has applications in clinical psychology, personnel selection and forensic settings.
